School Programs

Play it Safe (Kindergarten)

• 30 minutes

This program is offered to Kindergartners to make them aware of the word "safe". The program teaches children about traffic safety by using a real traffic light in a classroom. They will learn about strangers, 911, and what to do if they should become lost.

Police Officers Are Your Friends (Preschool)

• 20 minutes

This program is offered to the preschool level, which teaches children about a police officers job and their responsibilities. The program stresses that police officers are your friends.

2nd Grade Program

• 1 hour

This program is offered to 2nd-grade students. This program has a police officer instruct students about bicycle safety, stranger safety and accessing police / adult help. The students will also learn resistance and refusal skills.

5th Grade Program

• 1 hour

This program is offered to 5th-grade students which teaches students about the effects of alcohol and tobacco use, prescription and over-the-counter (OTC) drugs, and safe access. The students will also learn about peer pressure.

7TH Grade Program

• 1 hour

This program is offered to 7th-grade students which teaches students about safe and healthy use of technology, cyber bullying and NetSmartz.

8th Grade Program

• 1 hour

This program is offered to 8th-grade students. The officer reviews the use and consequences of alcohol, tobacco, heroin, prescriptions and OTC and new drug trends.

Substance Abuse Program (High School Grade Level)

• 2 Days

This 2-day program gives High School Students an overview of alcohol and drugs. This interactive program allows students to think about their goals in life and to recognize who alcohol and drugs really affect.
