 City Attorney

The City Attorney is responsible for providing legal counsel to the Mayor and Common Council, City officers, City department heads and City staff. In addition, the City Attorney also provides legal counsel to the City’s various Board and Commissions.

It is the duty of the City Attorney to provide legal services as may be assigned or requested. In addition, the City Attorney shall attend regular and special meetings of the Mayor and Common Council when requested to do so.

The City Attorney is appointed by the Mayor and Common Council and must be a member of the Maryland State Bar Association.
