The Street Department is responsible for the five following major areas of responsibility: street maintenance and snow removal storm drains; buildings and grounds; solid waste collection and disposal; and special event support.
Within the City's 5.5 square mile corporate limits, Street Department personnel maintain over 54 miles of City streets, more than 10 parks and hundreds of acres of open space and provide bulk solid waste and yard waste pick-up and related collection services to over 4,500 households in Westminster.
The Street Department is located at the City Maintenance Shop at 105 Railroad Avenue. The Street Department is equipped with modern machinery and a facility to allow employees to support an ever-increasing workload as the City grows.

The City's Street Department provides bulk pick-up and yard waste collection services to the approximately 4,200 City households that receive weekly solid waste and recycling collection by Ecology Services, LLC, the City's contracted hauler.
