Launched in 1977 by the National Trust for Historic Preservation, the program is built on the proven Four Point Approach®—Economic Vitality, Design, Promotion, and Organization—to strengthen local economies and create vibrant, thriving downtowns. in Maryland, we use a fifth approach, Clean, Safe & Green too.
