Greg Pecoraro was returned to the Council in 2019, at which time his colleagues elected him as Council President. He previously served from 1994 to 2003, 2005 to 2011, and now 2015 to the present. In addition to being Council President, Greg is chairman of the Finance and Technology committees and is a member of the Economic and Community Development Committee.
Long active in local civic affairs, he has served on the Superintendent’s Task Force on the Future of Carroll County Schools, the Board of the Carroll County General Hospital Foundation, the Carroll County Charter Board, and as a Youth Group Advisor at the Carroll County YMCA. He is a Lector at St. John Catholic Church in Westminster.
In his years on the Council Pecoraro played a key role in bringing the Carroll Arts Council to the old Carroll Theater building on Main Street, the construction of the city’s two parking garages, the Westminster Fiber project, redevelopment of several other downtown sites, and the expansion of the city’s parks and street festivals. Greg lives on Green Street and works professionally as the CEO of a national association in the aviation industry.
